TranscriptThe membership does not come from one particular church but rather brings together a cross-section of many denominations. BIBLE STUDY GROUP Three years ago a small group of Miners who wanted to know their Bibles better began setting aside a couple of hours a week to get together for an informal Bible study. Some have left the group, others have joined since that time. The study is lead by the members of the group themselves. Newman Club is the name of the college-age group that meets at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. This group gives the Catholic men at Mines an opportunity to meet socially and make acquaintances with people their own age outside the campus community. The members, which are drawn from local working people, airbase personnel and Tech students, are learning to know their church better and know their responsibilities as Christians under the direction of Father Plant. Study, worship, and recreation all have a place in the Newman Club. 117
