| Description | Students study in the new medical library reading room. The library was dedicated to Christian P. Lommen, the first dean. Lommen's son Peter attended the Lee Building dedication. A University medical library was established in 1907 to serve the School of Medicine and was located on the third floor of Science Hall. It moved later to the basement of the old university "Carnegie Library, " and, in 1953, found a home on the main floor of the new Lee Building. The Christian P. Lommen Health Sciences Library moved to the I. D. Weeks Library building May 1995 as part of an expansion and remodeling project. |
