DescriptionThe Shrine to Music Museum opened new galleries to the public in November 1975, in what was then the original location of the W. H. Over Museum. Included at the ribbon cutting ceremony from the left were: Mrs. Barnes Abell, president of the Shrine to Music Foundation; Governor Richard Kneip, cutting the ribbon; Mrs. Celia Minor (behind the governor), Regents of Education; Mrs. Lois Habbe, State Board of Cultural Preservation; Wayne Knutson, chairman of the South Dakota Arts Council; George German, South Dakota Bicentennial Commission; and Arne B. Larson, founder and director of the Shrine to Music Museum.
