First released in 1967, The Graduate is the second highest grossing movie of that decade, surpassed only by The Sound of Music. The film, which instantly made Dustin Hoffman a star, also stars Anne Bancroft and Katharine Ross. The movie soundtrack by Simon and Garfunkel includes such popular songs as Mrs. Robinson, Scarborough Fair, and Sound of Silence. Mike Nichols won an Oscar for Best Director. In addition to the film series ticket booklets, individual tickets will be sold for $ 4 on a space available basis Sunday evening at the Elks Theatre. Proceeds from the film series are used to support programs and resources at the Devereaux Library.
