Flakoll elected President of Technitrol Philadelphia, PA--The Board of Directors of Technitrol named Thomas J. Flakoll President and Chief Operating Officer at their meeting on March 18, 1994. Mr. Flakoll has held the position of Vice President of operations since May, 1990, and prior to that time managed the Components Division. He joined the company in May, 1980, was appointed to the Board of Directors in September, 1984 and was elected Vice President in November, 1985. Thomas J. Flakoll was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He is the son of Minnie N. Tysver of Ellendale and the late Anton J. Flakoll. He grew up near Forbes and graduated from Forbes High School. Mr. Flakoll received his BSEE from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and his MSBA from Indiana University. In addition to being President and Chief Operating Officer of Technitrol, Inc., Mr. Flakoll is a member of Technitrol's Board of Directors. He also serves as a Management Trustee for the IUE AFL-CIO Pension Fund. Technitrol is a diversified manufacturing company with corporate offices located within the Philadelphia area. Including its recent acquisition of the Fil-Mag Group, Technitrol has annualized sales of approximately $130 million, with over 2, 500 employees at 18 facilities throughout the world. Its operating units are involved in the design, manufacture and sales of electrical contacts, electronic components, metal laminates, measuring instruments, and cash counters and dispensers. The Company's stock (TNL) is traded on the American Stock Exchange. Prior to joining Technitrol in 1980, Mr. Flakoll held positions as Director of Operations and Director of Engineering at the Fermont Division of Dynamic Corporation of America in Bridgeport, Connecticut In addition, he held positions as Director of Manufacturing and Director of Engineering at the Bowmar Instrument Corporation of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Previously, he held engineering positions with Honeywell, Inc. and E. F. Johnson Company. Mr. Flakoll and his wife Linda live in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. They have two children. He is involved in the Pennsylvania Economy League, Washington Crossing Foundation and Turnaround Management Association. Thomas J. Flakoll |
