Tom Zeller, president of Rapid City-based RESPEC, and Dr. Charles Ruch, president of the School of Mines, signed the agreement Monday. "RESEC and the School of Mines have unique resources, " Zeller said. "This agreement will allow us to jointly pursue larger projects that will bring more research dollars into our community." "We are pleased to enter this partnership with RESPEC, " Ruch said. "It will allow us to formally work together as partners on a variety of research projects." Both RESPEC and the School of Mines will be able to leverage the partnership when applying for research grants. Those projects could allow RESPEC to grow and will offer School of Mines students new opportunities to learn the skills future employers want and need. The projects also will help the two investigate new technologies and products. "We are very excited to have the opportunity to work with important businesses and industry in our community to advance science and technology, " Ruch said.
