TranscriptSouth Dakota Tech News 501 E. Saint Joseph Street Rapid City, SD 57701-3995 Phone: (605) 394-6082/2554 Fax: (605) 394-6177 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 17, 2004 Contact: Steve Buchholz, Public Information Manager, 394-6082 South Dakota Tech Dedicates Stadium Sign South Dakota Tech dedicated the university's new electronic message board during a ceremony held Wednesday outside Dunham Field at O'Harra Stadium. The full color message center, manufactured by Daktronics in Brookings, measures 32 feet by 96 feet and was made possible through a gift from US Bank. The sign also honors George and Nancy Dunham's lifelong support of South Dakota Tech and the Hardrock Club. "Dunham Field is a unique athletic facility because it is used by many of Rapid City's teams, " US Bank regional president Pat Burchill said. "We wanted to be part of this project to support athletics and to advertise the quality products and services that US Bank offers." George Dunham earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Tech in 1956. Nancy Dunham earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Tech in 1957. "Nancy and I have supported the School of Mines and the Hardrock Club since we graduated, " George Dunham said. "This is part of our support for the athletic program that we plan to continue." The message center will communicate campus events and will recognize significant accomplishments at South Dakota Tech and in the Rapid City Community. #30#
