| Transcript | 1998 SOUTH DAKOTA FUTURE FAIR SPEAKERS/ EVENTS TO BE ANNOUNCED AT NEWS CONFERENCE ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 The lineup of speakers and events for the 1998 South Dakota Future Fair will be announced at a news conference Friday, September 26, 1997, at 10: 00 a. m. in the Montana Room ( 2nd floor) of the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn. The 1998 South Dakota Future Fair will be held January 16- 18, 1998, at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. 1998 South Dakota Future Fair Chair Mutch Usera of Black Hills Power & Light Company will provide an overview of the three- day educational event that is designed to help both children and adults learn about emerging technology. The 1998 Future Fair will offer a wide range of speakers, programs and exhibits to stimulate new thinking about technology and the future. The 1996 Future Fair featured well- known visionary speakers including David Heil, host of the Emmy- winning PBS science series Newton's Apple; Harry Dent, Jr., author of The Great Boom Years Ahead; and Brian Nelson, host of CNN Computer Connection. Over 2000 children and young adults from area schools participated in Education Day at the 1996 event, which featured over 40 exhibits and displays, including the US WEST WOW ( Widening Our World) Van and the SDSM& T Children's Museum in Motion. Education Day for the 1998 Future Fair has been broadened and promised to be even larger than the 1996 event. Sponsors of the 1998 South Dakota Future Fair are Black Hills Power & Light, Black Hills State University, KOTA Radio & TV, Norwest Bank South Dakota, Rapid City Journal, Rapid City Regional Hospital System of Care, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, and US WEST.
