During each seminar, participants receive a comprehensive overview of Israeli society and politics. Through personal experience, participants build their own greater understanding of Israel, the Middle East and the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship. Each seminar includes: • Briefings with top Israeli government and military officials • Discussions with Palestinian and Arab-Israeli community leaders • Meetings with leading Israeli academics and businesspeople • Visits to sites of historical, strategic and religious significance • Sessions on education, immigrant absorption, social welfare programs, trade and economic development. Seminar programs are specially tailored to match the interests of each delegation. Participants also have the opportunity to meet with their Israeli counterparts and share best practices. The Project Interchange educational experience does not end when delegations return to the United States. Alumni receive briefing papers and updates on current events in Israel, and are invited to attend briefings and Israel-related programs in their home communities. The impact of a Project Interchange seminar stretches far beyond a single participant or delegation. Alumni share their experiences with their home communities and constituencies. Some examples of alumni activities include speaking to groups, writing editorials, producing documentaries and organizing press conferences about their experiences in Israel. Project Interchange is a non-profit, non-partisan organization funded by private individuals and foundations. #30# |
