Crater is majoring in Mechanical Engineering at South Dakota Tech, an engineering and science university in Rapid City, S.D. Students involved in CAMP design, build and compete with vehicles such as the solar car, mini-Indy, mini-Baja, remote-controlled airplane, unmanned aerial vehicle, human-powered vehicle, as well as robots and others. Any South Dakota Tech student can participate in any CAMP project, but students also can apply to be official CAMP members. Students apply for those positions much as they would apply for a job.
