Costello is pursuing a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Tech, an engineering, science and technology university in Rapid City, S.D. The vehicles were judged on design and safety, and in sprint and endurance races against 12 teams from across the country. The Tech team, which designed its bike so riders sat in a recumbent position, competed in the single rider events.
