Tau Beta Pi is a National Engineering Honor Society founded in 1885. The Alpha Chapter of SDSM& T was organized in 1974. Since then 1, 024 members have been initiated. To be eligible, students must be an engineering major and in the top 1/ 5 of the senior class or the top 1/ 8 of the junior class.
