| Transcript | By Brad Blume Sports Information Director South Dakota School of Mines RAPID CITY --- There's an old saying that states "good things come in the threes." The South Dakota School of Mines football team hopes that phrase holds true as the Hardrocker program has most recently announced the signing of Cliff Kling, one of three brothers to the ‘Rocker roster for the 2008 season. Brothers Clint and Colen signed with the SDM squad earlier this spring. Cliff along with his brothers all played high school football for the Belle Fourche Broncs in western South Dakota. "We are pleased to announce the signing of Cliff Kling to the Hardrock Football program, " said Hardrocker football head coach Dan Kratzer, "Cliff is an 2005 graduate of Belle Fourche High School where he excelled as an all BHC conference offensive player." Cliff, 6-foot-1.5-inches and 245 pounds, will be an added asset to the ‘Rocker offensive line. "We're very excited about having the opportunity to work with Cliff, he is an outstanding young man who has proved himself in the classroom, and now has the opportunity to do the same on the football field." Cliff is an engineering major who has two seasons of eligibility remaining although he can graduate next December if he chooses to do so. "Cliff is just what we are looking for in an offensive guard, " Kratzer said. "Cliff, although being away from football for a couple of years, has the speed, quickness and strength to be an outstanding lineman in this league, and will have the opportunity to partner with two brothers (Clint and Colen) who have already committed to the Hardrock football program." Colen will join the team as a freshman as he just graduated fro BFHS this spring while Clint spent a year at Sierra Community College in Rocklin, Calif. Colen was an impressive full back for the Broncs and Clint became a skilled lineman for both the offense and defense during his college stint. "This may be a first, having three brothers playing on the same team, " Kratzer said. "It certainly is a first for me as a coach. I'm really looking forward to seeing what type of impact these three young men can have on our program. |
