| Transcript | SDM Hall of Fame inductees announced RAPID CITY --- The South Dakota School of Mines Hard Rock Club has released the names of the 2008 Hardrocker Hall of Fame Inductees. Joe Corbett (football), Derek Knapp (men's basketball), Lisa Zacher (all-around), Mark Huber (track and cross country), Jack Hunter II (coach), and the undefeated 1951 Hardrocker football team will be among the 2008 induction class. The honorees will be inducted Oct. 4 during the Hall of Fame Banquet in the Christensen Hall of Fame Room at 6 p.m. to conclude "M" Week. Tickets for the banquet are $20 per person and can be purchased from Hardrock Club CEO Tom Rudebusch at 394-2601. 2008 Hardrocker Hall of Fame Inductees Football - Joe Corbett (1982) - Was an outstanding linebacker on the Hardrocker football team for three years. Was an Honorable Mention NAIA All-American, All-District and All-Conference selection during some of the greatest years in Mines football history. Men's Basketball - Derek Knapp (1994) AII-NAIA District and All-Conference performer and 4th All-time men's scorer with 1, 860 points. All-Around Women's - Lisa Zacher (1985) was first woman athlete to compete in three sports at the School of Mines- Basketball, Volleyball, and Track. Track & CC - Mark Huber - (1981) Holds the school record in the 1, 500 meter, 5K and 10K run. He won two SDIC Individual Conference Championships in 1981 in the 5K and 10K run. Coach - Jack Hunter II - (1975-1986) Coached the track team for 11 years and helped develop several outstanding performers. He coached the Hardrockers to the 1984 SDIC Conference Track Championship. Team -1951 Hardrocker football - The last unbeaten Hardrocker football team posted an 8-0 in 1951 and was coached by Barney Lewellyn.
