Minot State won the men's division with a 599 and Black Hills State earned top honors on the women's side with 704 stokes. "It was our first tournament of the year, " said Hardrocker head golf coach Eric Glenn. Individually Kyle Chan from Dickinson topped the leaderboard for the men with a total of 145 while Lyndsey Kent‐Filkowski also from Dickinson, was the medalist for the women with a score of 188. For the Hardrocker men, junior Brad Schaak (a Mechanical Engineering major from Vermillion, S.D.) had the lowest score of the team with a 155 (82‐73) which earned him ninth place overall. Fellow junior Brandon Eisenbraun (a Chemical and Mechanical Engineering major from Yankton, S.D.) was one shot back in 10 place with a 156 (84‐72). "It was good to see Brandon and Brad have a good (tournament), " Glenn said. "To be more competitive they just need to get both score in the 70's ‐‐‐ and they should be able to do that." Freshman Cody Vostad ( an engineering major from Cantan, S.D.) took 13th place after carding a 162 (82‐80) and senior Quentin Patterson (a Mechanical Engineering major from Sioux Falls S.D.) was a couple spots back in 16th with a 164 (82‐83) and Sam Hermanson was one shot back with a 165 (82‐83) for 17th. As for the Hardrocker women, sophomore Ayla Brausen (a Interdisciplinary Science major from Ipswich, S.D.) came in with the low score for the team, carding a 217 (108‐109). Senior Jodi Kaup (an Industrial Engineering major from Black Hawk, S.D.) was a spot back in 20th with a score of 220 (111‐109), newcomer Jamie Lien (sophomore Interdisciplinary Science major from Pierre, S.D) put up a 228 (113‐115) for 21st place and Stephanie Leber (a Pre‐Law major from Dell Rapids, S.D.) ended with a total of 242 (126‐116) for 22nd place. "It was a good start for the girls, " Glenn said. "The goal for the women's team is to get their team score under 400. I think they can do that. They just have to keep working at it." Next up, both Hardrocker team head back to North Dakota Sunday and Monday for the Jamestown College Invite.
