| Transcript | 4 'Rockers earn NAIA scholar honors ST. LOUIS, Mo. --- The South Dakota School of Mines had four student-athletes named NAIA Scholar athletes last week during the NAIA National Outdoor Track Meet in St. Louis, Mo., as Matt Deardoff (senior from Brandon, S.D.), Scott Anderson (junior from Huron, S.D.), Jason Simmons (junior from New Underwood, S.D.) and Ashley Stewart (junior from Scotland, S.D.) all earned the prestigious honor. To be honored as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must hold junior or senior academic standing and have a minimum 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. In all, a total of 208 student-athletes have earned the award on the men's side. There are 76 different NAIA institutions are represented on the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete squad.
