Approximately 130 students were candidates for degrees during Tech's 146th Commencement. South Dakota Gov. Bill Janklow delivered the commencement address. Seth Brakke of Presho, S.D., gave the senior class message. Tech also awarded five Distinguished Alumni awards to Tech graduates who have made important impacts on their professions and on Tech.
