The Center is open from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 2, through Saturday, July 8. "A lot of local families and tourists have no place to go. We are offering the Science Center to them so they have something to do while they wait to get back to their lives, " Julie Smoragiewicz said. Smoragiewicz is vice president for university relations at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, which operates the Center. Children and families can see the Earth as Art exhibit, experience the Light and Color interactive exhibit, and enjoy the indoor treehouse, Buffalo Reading Room and the Center's other hands-on exhibits. The Science Center is located at 515 West Blvd. Call 394-6996 for information and directions. The Children's Science Center is an outreach service of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. #30#
