The South Dakota Tech Circle K chapter participated in a playground building project that was dedicated this year. The playground cost Hill City a little more than $ 7, 000, but was valued and insured at more than $ 70, 000. It also required more than 900 hours of work from planning through completion. The project was submitted to the International Single Service Award program. The program is designed to recognize and honor clubs that demonstrate dedication and unselfish efforts. The first place award went to a Circle K project that funded a hospital in the Philippines. The second place award was given to the club that built a library in New Jersey. There were 22 entries. The students: Brian Hyronimus, Worthing, Mechanical Engineering; Lance Woodsend, Sioux Falls, Civil and Environmental Engineering; Eric Minnaert, Madison, Electrical Engineering; Dan Wolf, Canton, Computer Engineering; Ryan Bouwens, Sioux Falls, Electrical Engineering; Mike Zebill, Rapid City, Electrical Engineering; Steven Radabaugh, Rapid City, Computer Science; Vanessa Gray, Ellsworth AFB, Interdisciplinary Science; Jessica Duba, Rapid City, Computer Engineering; Krista Masteller, Piedmont, Interdisciplinary Science. # 30#
