The summer program, sponsored by the South Dakota Department of Education and Cultural Affairs, was designed to teach educators about network creation, server maintenance and repair, network diagramming, software configuration, passwords, e- mail accounts and security, Internet access and firewalls in addition to a host of other topics. Forty- five South Dakota educators attended one of three academies on the South Dakota Tech campus. The four- day sessions included eight hours of classroom instruction plus homework.
