| Transcript | TONY MASSING: KEYNOTE SPEAKER for 1997 REGIONAL CONFERENCE AWARDS BANQUET The keynote speaker for the 1997 ASCE Rocky Mountain Regional Conference Awards Banquet will be Tony D. Massing, PE. Mr. Massing is Manager of Systems Administration for The Filoli Information Systems Company in Palo Alto, California. This year's Regional Conference is being hosted by the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, South Dakota. Mr. Massing has over 12 years of heavy construction experience and maintains extensive knowledge in Computer Aided Engineering, modeling and computer systems. He has worked on several one of a kind national construction projects like the Superconnecting Super Collider in Texas, the Tennessee- Tombigbee Waterway in Mississippi, the Albemarle Sound Bridge in North Carolina, the I- 595 Interstate Project in Florida, and the Lake Avenue Tunnel Project in New York. Tony Massing is a registered professional civil engineer. He co- oped and later graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee- Knoxville with a major in construction and minors in structures, transportation and accounting. Mr. Massing is a former president of the University of Tennessee- Knoxville ASCE Student Chapter and the Tallahassee Florida Branch of ASCE. He is a former recipient of the Young Engineer of theYear Award for the Tallahassee Branch. Mr. Massing is currently serving as the Zone III Practitioner on the ASCE Committee on Student Services and is current Chair of the National Committee on Concrete Canoe Competitions. The awards banquet will begin at 7: 30 p. m., Saturday, April 12, at Howard Johnson's in Rapid City following a mixer from 6: 30 - 7: 30 p. m. The concrete canoe races will be held from 12: 00 noon to 5: 00 p. m. on Saturday afternoon in Canyon Lake on the western edge of Rapid City. |
