Saturday, Dec. 2 Holiday Pet Education Day, 11 a. m. to noon. Animal care specialists will talk about pets as gifts, holiday stress and dangers your pets face during the holidays. Safe pet gift item will be on sale. There will also be animal balloon making and face painting. Free with admission. Saturday, December 9 Drop & Shop. The Children's Science Center is again offering Drop & Shop this holiday season. This will give parents a chance to do some last minute holiday shopping or just relax. Each program is three hours long and costs $ 8, $ 7 for members. Programs include activities, make and takes, and snacks. You must pre- register. 9 a. m. to noon: Life of the Desert. This program uses the center's living collection and other animals. It introduces children to some of the animals that inhabit desert environments and the special adaptations they make. This program is for children ages 5 to 10. You must register by Thursday, Dec 7. 1 p. m. to 4 p. m.: Dino Tots. This program is an introduction to dinosaurs through stories and hands- on activities that will give children something to take home. This program is for children ages 5 to 7.
