| Transcript | November 29, 2000 Children's Science Center schedule The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Children's Science Center, 515 West Blvd., Rapid City, has scheduled the following events. Admission is $ 3. Children under age 2 are admitted free. School group admission is $ 2 for each person with one free adult admission for every 10 children. Admission is free for members of the museum or of another museum that belongs to the Association of Science and Technology Centers. - Friday, Dec. 1: " Sidewalk Astronomy, " 5: 30 p. m. to 7 p. m. Join us outside the Children's Science Center for a look through a telescope. Participants will use an 8- inch telescope to look at the first quarter moon and to try to find the planet Uranus. You will also look at Venus, Saturn and Jupiter. This program is weather dependent and will be cancelled in case of inclement weather. Free. - Saturday, Dec. 2: " Holiday Pet Education Day, " 11 a. m. to 2 p. m. If you think you have it bad over the holidays, imagine what it's like for your pets. Join Animal Friends Humane Society and the Science Center for the 2nd annual Holiday Pet Education Day. Pet and animal care specialists will be on hand to provide information on pets as gifts, holiday stress and dangers your pet faces during the holidays. Safe gifts ideas and items for your pet's holiday will be available. There will also be animal balloon making and face painting. Teach your child how to be a responsible pet owner during the holidays. Free with admission. |
