St. Joseph Street • Rapid City, SD 57701- 3995 Phone: ( 605) 394- 6082/ 2554 • Fax: ( 605) 394- 6177 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 17, 2000 HOMECOMING KING AND QUEEN CROWNED DURING M- WEEK AT SDSM& T Brent Scheele and Jennifer Flores were crowned homecoming king and queen during the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology M- Week activities the week of September 17- 23, 2000. Scheele is the son of Jim and Debbie Scheele of Belle Fourche, and Flores is the daughter of Wayman West and Lisa Flores of Colorado Springs. Scheele is a senior civil engineering major at SDSM& T. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers ( ASCE), Triangle fraternity, and SDSM& T's judiciary board. Scheele is also president and senior senator of the Student Association ( SA), the organization that sponsored his court nomination. Flores is a senior chemical engineering major at SDSM& T. She is involved in TONITE ( Tech's Outrageous New Initiative for Total Entertainment), the Leadership Development Team, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers ( AlCheE) and intramural sports. She is also a member of Phi Eta Sigma, the Honors Convocation Committee and Alpha Delta Pi, the organization that sponsored her court nomination. Members of the 2000 homecoming court included Colleen Manning of Burbank, Erin Macy and Erin Ernst of Aberdeen, Jenny Hartung of Hoven, Travis DeWeese of Spearfish, Dennis Clary of Peyton, CO, Dain Patterson of Wall, and Eric Skott of Aberdeen. ++ 30++ ( I: univrel/ pressrel/ 2000 17 Homecoming) |
