Sletten, son of Jim and Cindy Sletten of Irene, SD, graduated with honors from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology during the spring commencement ceremony held May 12, 2001 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City. Joshua graduated with a degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering. Approximately 200 students were candidates for degrees during Tech's 143rd commencement. A reception was held for Josh at Canyon Lake Park in Rapid City. Josh has accepted a scholarship at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana in pursuit of his Masters Degree in Structural Engineering. Josh is the grandson of Mrs. Gladys Sletten of Platte.
