| Transcript | 57006 FBB 0 5 2004 Ipswich Tribune n Maurice Krueger ' Mass of Christian Burial for Maurice Krueger will be 2:00 p.m., today, Feb. 4, 2004 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ipswich. Fr. Gregory Tschakert will serve as Celebrant of the Mass. Burial will be in the Ipswich City Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites. Grarnm-Hein Funeral Home of Ipswich was in charge of the arrangements. Maurice Krueger was born on Dec. 18, 1924, the son of Carl and Wavie (Hall) Krueger in Belle Township, Edmunds County. S.D. He grew up on the farm and attended country school. He graduated from Ipswich High School as valedictorian of his class in 1942. Maurice attended college at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City before joining the US Navy. He attended Electronics School In the Navy and upon receiving his honorable, discharge, he went to work at' Cook Research Laboratories in Chicago, 111. While working there, he attended night school at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. In 1952. he was assigned to the Washington, DC area where he was In charge of a group of engineers doing counter measures research on US Navy fire control radars. He then transferred to technical sales and worked for several manufacturers representatives in the Washington, DC area before starting his own business. K-G Electronics, Inc. He retired from business in 1980 to pursue hobbies, which included living on his yacht for a number of years on the east coast of the United States prior to returning to South Dakota in 1986. He had been active in a number of clubs, including the Aberdeen Computer Club, the Aberdeen Area Genealogical Society, the South Dakota Genealogical Society, and the North Central Genealogical Society. He was an officer in most of these clubs. He and his wife Florence published over fifty books dealing with genealogy and computers. Maurice also served on various boards including the Southside Cemetery Association in Ipswich, the Marcus P. Beebe Memorial Library Board in Ipswich, the South Dakota State Genealogical Society Board, and was a volunteer at the Alexander Mitchel! Public Library in Aberdeen. He died at his home in Aberdeen on Saturday, January 31. 2004. Maurice is survived by his wife, Florence (Schaub) Krueger of Aberdeen; three sons. Dale and "'WrkofcAamapoHsT'Md. �nd Eric, of" Virginia: one daughter, Linda (Roy] Prebble of Texas; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, his first wife and one son. Honorary casket bearers will be Bill DeMent, Lloyd Lesmeister, Dennis Aker, "Robert Ackerman, and Ralph Weisgram. Casket bearers will be Dale Krueger, Kirk Krueger, Dennis Krueger, Art Schaub, Tim Gillick and Gerald Taylor. |
