St. Joseph Street • Rapid City, SD 57701- 3995 Phone: ( 605) 394- 6082/ 2554 • Fax: ( 605) 394- 6177 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ( September 7, 2000) SDSM& T DINO DASH RUN/ WALK TO TAKE PLACE ON SEPTEMBER 9 The South Dakota School of Mines & Technology Museum of Geology and the Children's Science Center will host the 2000 Dinosaur Dash on September 9, 2000. The 5K Run/ Walk is being held to celebrate the Museum of Geology's Programs and the first year of the Children's Science Center. The race will begin at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and proceed down Main Street to the Children's Science Center, 515 West Boulevard. Participants will then proceed down East St. Joseph Street to return to SDSM& T. Registration will be from 7: 30 a. m. to 8: 00 a. m. The 5K race will take off at 8: 15 a. m. with the 5K walk beginning at 9: 30 a. m. Registration fee is $ 15.00 The entry fee includes a t- shirt, 10% coupon to the Museum of Geology bookstore, one day pass to the Children's Science Center, and a set of temporary dinosaur tattoos. Community participants have opportunities to earn awards in numerous categories including 5K run or walk for both children and adults.
