St. Joseph Street Rapid City, SD 57701- 3995 Phone: ( 605) 394- 6082/ 2554 Fax: ( 605) 394- 6177 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 5, 2000 LOCAL STUDENTS INDUCTED INTO ORDER OF OMEGA AT SDSM& T Jaeson Steele and Jennifer Wilson of Hastings were recently inducted into the Order of Omega at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. Steele is a senior chemistry major and member of Alpha Chi Sigma fraternity, and Wilson is a junior interdisciplinary sciences major and member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. The Order of Omega is a national Greek honorary society. It was founded in 1959 upon the belief that individuals in the Greek community should be recognized for their service to the fraternity system and to the University. The purpose of the Order of Omega is to recognize fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership, to foster continued leadership among its members, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment. Selection to the honorary society is based on application, grade point average, and is limited to the top 3% of the Greek community who are juniors or above. ++ 30++ ( I: univrel/ pressrel/ 0100 Order of Omega local Hastings MN)
