St. Joseph Street • Rapid City, SD 57701- 3995 Phone: ( 605) 394- 6082/ 2554 • Fax: ( 605) 394- 6177 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 29, 1999 TURN YOUR CHRISTMAS WRAPPING INTO FLIGHTS OF FANCY AT THE CHILDREN'S SCIENCE CENTER Bring your old Christmas wrapping paper to the Children's Science Center on Friday, December 31 and turn them into Flights of Fancy! Don't throw that paper away, come and learn how to turn it into colorful, flashy, fancy paper airplanes! During regular open hours from 9: 30 am – 12: 30 pm, children can come to the Science Center and open up their imagination while creating Flights of Fancy. Craig DeTample, Director of the Science Center, will enlight, entertain, and instruct children on the transformation of used paper into beautiful paper airplanes. During your visit be sure to check out the newest addition to the Center, a bird aviary. The exhibit was installed this week and is a result of an eagle scout project of a local student. Ten birds can be found in the aviary including a Button Quail, Zebra Finch, and Society Finches. The Children's Science Center is located at 515 West Boulevard.
