St. Joseph Street Rapid City, SD 57701- 3995 Phone: ( 605) 394- 6082/ 2554 Fax: ( 605) 394- 6177 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 10, 1999 UW GRADUATE ACCEPTS POSITION AT SDSM& T Dr. Kyle Riley, a 1992 graduate of the University of Wyoming, recently accepted a position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology ( SDSM& T) in Rapid City. Riley earned a Bachelor of Science in math and math education from UW and a Master of Science and Ph. D. in mathematics from Montana State University. In his new position Riley will be responsible for instruction of undergraduate courses and research. His primary field of research is numerical linear algebra. Riley comes to Tech from Montana State University where he worked as a graduate teaching assistant and research assistant. " Since all my education has been at Engineering dominated schools it seemed natural to come to Tech, " said Riley. " My work is computing combined with math so the department matches this desire perfectly. I look forward to developing some undergraduate curriculum and working with different members of the faculty here at SDSM& T."
