St. Joseph Street Rapid City, SD 57701- 3995 Phone: ( 605) 394- 6082/ 2554 Fax: ( 605) 394- 6177 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 10, 1999 CC GRADUATE ACCEPTS POSITION AT SDSM& T Dr. Kerri Vierling, a 1994 and 1998 graduate of the University of Colorado, recently accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Biology at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology ( SDSM& T). Vierling earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Colorado College, and an MA and Ph. D. from the University of Colorado, Boulder in Environmental, Population, and Organismic Biology. In her new position Vierling will be responsible for teaching a variety of biology courses including ecology, environmental science, and anatomy/ physiology. She will also be coordinating anatomy/ physiology laboratories. Vierling most recently worked at SDSM& T in as a temporary hire biologist from September 1998 May 1999. She previously worked as a Wildlife Biologist with the City of Boulder Open Space Department, and taught the Conservation Biology course at the University of Colorado Mountain Research Station in July 1999. ++ 30++ ( I: univrel/ pressrel/ 0999 New Faculty Kerri Vierling fxd CU)
