PLEASANT RESIDENT ACCEPTS POSITION AT SDSM& T Donald Hapward, a former resident of Mt. Pleasant, recently accepted a position as Director of Admissions at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology ( SDSM& T) in Rapid City. Hapward earned a Bachelor of Arts in History & Political Science from Southwestern College and a Master of Arts in American History from Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas. In his new position Hapward will be responsible for enrollment planning, development and implementation of marketing and student recruitment strategies, conduct and analyze market research, collaborate with university relations admission related publications and assist with the K- 12 outreach program. Hapward comes to Tech with 28 years experience in the admissions profession and three years experience as a high school educator. He most recently came from Union College, Kentucky where he served as Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid. The South Dakota School of Mines & Technology has established a world- wide reputation as an outstanding engineering and science institution.
