Events will include a field trip on Friday, May 7 and a ceremony at Mount Rushmore on Saturday, May 8. Dr. Arden Davis, professor of Geology and Geological Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology ( SDSM& T) will be participating in the event along with representatives of the U. S. Geological Survey, the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the South Dakota Section of the American Water Works Association, the Indian Health Service, and Tribal Council Members. U. S.
