St. Joseph Street • Rapid City, SD 57701- 3995 Phone: ( 605) 394- 6082/ 2554 • Fax: ( 605) 394- 6177 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ( May 24, 1999) LOCAL STUDENT ELECTED AS SDSM& T STUDENT ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT Charles Cox of Yankton was recently elected Student Association President at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology ( SDSM& T). Cox is a senior Mechanical Engineering major at Tech. The Student Association is the student's government. Through its officers and committees, it is involved in all non- academic student activities. Control of the Student Association is vested in a Student Senate. Its purpose is to serve the students by making decisions, and serving as a voice for the students to the administration and at the Student Federation and Board of Regents meetings.
