St. Joseph Street • Rapid City, SD 57701- 3995 Phone: ( 605) 394- 6082/ 2554 • Fax: ( 605) 394- 6177 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ( April 1, 1999) FORMER RESIDENT IS HONORED AT SDSM& T HONORS CONVOCATION During the 48th Annual Honors Convocation held Tuesday, March 30, at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology ( SDSM& T), Mary Loucks, a former officer in First State Bank of Froid, Montana, was honored with the SDSM& T Outstanding Public Service Award. The Honors Convocation is held to present awards to students, faculty, and friends of SDSM& T in recognition of their outstanding service and academic achievements. Mary Loucks is vice president for Norwest Bank of South Dakota in Rapid City. She is currently a Board member for the Salvation Army, Youth and Family Services, Westhills Village, CASA, Black Hills Symphony Board and a community representative on the Canyon Lake Senior Citizens Board. She also is a volunteer in numerous community and service clubs, as well as an active member and elder in the First Presbyterian Church, Rapid City. Ms. Loucks has donated thousands of hours of her time and knowledge to help Rapid City and the state of South Dakota be a better place to live. She has willingly served on numerous other national, regional and local boards. She was appointed by the Governor to the South Dakota State Employment and Training Council and the South Dakota Advisory Council on Vocational Education.
