Adam Turbiville won 5th Place/ 7th Grade- Biology for his science project entitled " What Natural Additives Improve Plant Growth in Grummit Clay?" Matthew Jackson won 4th Place/ 8th Grade- Biology for his science project entitled " What is Connection between Gender and Memory?" Cliff Kling won 4th Place/ 7th Grade- Physical for his science project entitled " Heat and Evaporation." Heath Bachman took 2nd Place/ 8th Grade- Physical for his science project entitled " What Style of Bridge Holds the Most Weight?". Megan Fitzgerald took 5th Place/ 8th Grade- Physical and 2nd Place Junior High/ US Air Force Awards for her science project entitled " Do Different Methods Grow Different Crystals?" and Jonathan Baker took 3rd Place Junior High/ US Air Force Awards for his science project entitled " How do Tornadoes Form?" The 44th Annual High Plains Regional Science & Engineering Fair featured 375 middle and high school students from 32 area schools competing in various science and engineering categories.
