The movie will be shown at 6: 00 pm in the Elks Theatre. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola, Finian's Rainbow stars Fred Astaire with Petula Clark, Keenan Wynn, Tommy Steele, and Barbara Hancock. The 1968 whimsical musical fantasy, with music by Burton Land and E. Y. Harburg, was adapted from the 1940' s Broadway hit. Film critic Leonard Maltin calls this film �� perhaps the best movie musical of its era." The film received Academy Award nominations for Best Music and Best Sound. It was also honored with five Golden Globe nominations-- Best Musical/ Comedy, Best Actor ( Astaire), Best Actress ( Clark), Best Supporting Actress ( Hancock) and Most Promising Newcomer ( Hancock). Dacotah Cement and Dean Kurtz Construction are sponsors of the showing of the film.
