St. Joseph Street • Rapid City, SD 57701- 3995 Phone: ( 605) 394- 6082/ 2554 • Fax: ( 605) 394- 6177 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ( January 11, 1999) PIERRE AND FORT PIERRE STUDENTS RECOGNIZED AS SDSM& T STUDENT ORIENTATION LEADERS Dr. Richard Gowen, President of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology ( SDSM& T) recently recognized Chris Ahlers of Pierre and Justin Briggs of Fort Pierre for their leadership on the SDSM& T Student Orientation Committee. Ahlers is a graduate of Riggs High School and is a junior computer engineering major at South Dakota Tech. A 1993 graduate of Stanley County High School, Briggs is a senior chemical engineering major. Dr. Gowen recently hosted Ahlers, Briggs and several other student leaders at a dinner in his home to recognize the Student Orientation Committee's good work.
