The showing of the movie is being sponsored by Pet Pantry. This 1959 British comedy stars Peter Sellers and was directed by Jack Arnold. This was the first film in which Sellers made a big impression on American moviegoers. Sellers plays three roles in this legendary satire from the Cold- War era, which was adapted from the Leonard Wibberley novel, The Wrath of the Grapes. The following quote from the film describes the premise of the movie: " You must remember the Americans are a very strange people. Whereas other countries rarely forgive anything, the Americans forgive everything. There isn't a more profitable undertaking for any country than to declare war on the United States and to be defeated." The Friends of the Devereaux Library, in cooperation with the historic Elks Theatre and several local sponsors, will be hosting " Nostaglia Night 1999— Lights, Camera, Action!" for the next ten Sunday evenings from January 10 through March 14, 1999. All shows begin at 6: 00 p. m. Ticket booklets are $ 30 each, which includes admission to all ten Nostalgia Night films. Ticket booklets are available at the Prince & Pauper Book Shop, Book & Company, the Elks Theatre, and the SDSM& T Devereaux Library through Saturday, January 9. After Saturday, tickets will be available only at the Elks Theatre. Tickets for individual movies will be sold at the door the evening of the film for $ 4.50 on a space available basis. Proceeds from the film series are used to support programs and resources at the Devereaux Library.
