St. Joseph Street • Rapid City, SD 57701- 3995 Phone: ( 605) 394- 6082/ 2554 • Fax: ( 605) 394- 6177 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ( April 3, 1998) SDSM& T 1998 UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM TO BE HELD APRIL 4TH The South Dakota School of Mines & Technology is hosting the 1998 Undergraduate Research Symposium this Saturday, April 4, from 9: 00 a. m. to 3: 00 p. m. in the Classroom Building Rooms 330 and 329. The event is free and open to the public. Undergraduate students from SDSM& T, Northern State University, Dakota State University and South Dakota State University will present their latest research in the fields of Engineering, Science and Social Sciences. The students will give oral presentations from 9: 15 - 11: 00 a. m. The poster presentation sessions run from 11: 00 a. m.- noon and 1: 00- 2: 00 p. m. An informal roundtable discussion entitled " Graduate Studies- A Career Choice??" will be held from 2: 00 - 2: 30 p. m., with the awards ceremony following at 2: 30 p. m. in CB 330. Cash awards will be given to the top presenters in each category and to the best overall presenter. South Dakota Tech students scheduled to give presentations ( including hometown, major, research topic, faculty advisor and department) are as follows: Linda J.
