D., a South Dakota School of Mines & Technology ( SDSM& T) professor and an alumnus of the University of South Dakota, recently received the 1998 SDSM& T Presidential Award for Outstanding Professor. Dr. Al Boysen, Professor of English in SDSM& T's Department of Humanities, received his M. A. degree in English in 1968 and his Ed. D. degree in 1979 from the University of South Dakota. He received a B. A. degree in English from Augustana College in 1967. Dr. Richard J. Gowen, President of SDSM& T, presented the award to Dr. Boysen during SDSM& T's recent 47th Annual Honors Convocation. Dr. Boysen was selected for the award in recognition of his accomplishments in teaching and the positive impact he has had on students over the past three decades. Boysen has taught at SDSM& T since 1969. He and his wife, Charis, have a son, Troy, who also is an alumnus of USD. + 30++ ( fs1/ programs/ dept/ univrel/ pressrele/ 0498/ Honors Boysen USD )
