St. Joseph Street Rapid City, SD 57701- 3995 Phone: ( 605) 394- 6082/ 2554 Fax: ( 605) 394- 6177 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ( April 10, 1998) SDSM& T DRAMA CLUB TO PRESENT " BLITHE SPIRIT" APRIL 16- 18 The SDSM& T Drama Club will present Sir Noel Coward's " Blithe Spirit" at 8: 00 p. m. in the Surbeck Ballroom next Thursday through Saturday, April 16 - 18. All shows begin promptly at 8: 00 p. m, , preceded by a Prologue at 7: 30 p. m. The pre- show features a collection of Sir Noel Coward's music played by a jazz band and small vignettes performed by a verse choir. This improbable farce, directed by Mr. William Barbe, is set in 3/ 4 round style, something new to the SDSM& T Drama Club. Featured in the cast are Steven Holty ( Chemical Engineering, Aberdeen) as Charles; Francie Linn ( undeclared major, Duluth MN) as Ruth; Jenny Vytlacil ( Interdisciplinary Sciences, Box Elder) as Elvira; Nicole Stengle ( Computer Engineering, Pierre) as Madame Arcati; Travis White ( Interdisciplinary Sciences, Las Vegas NV) as Dr. Bradman; Melinda Lopez ( Electrical Engineering, Gillette WY) as Mrs. Bradman; Jennifer Nelson ( Mechanical Engineering major, Sioux Falls) as Edith and Douglas Lund ( Chemical Engineering, Blaine MN) as B. Allmen. The action of the show takes place in and around the living room of Charles Condomine, a writer researching a new novel. He invites a local psychic, Madame Arcasti, to perform a seance so he might learn a few tricks of the trade. All the mayhem begins with the appearance of Elvira, Charles's dead wife. The excitement builds with a surprising plot twist to a thrilling climax. Admission is free to those with Tech IDs and children under 12. Tickets for $ 4 for the general public.
