TranscriptRegardless of Your Party Affiliation—As a Lake County Citizen You Will Get More for Your Vote if You Support KARL November 3rd Let's help ourselves by putting a local man in congress South Dakota needs a fighting voice and a friendly vote in congress KARL MUNDT'S FARM PROGRAM EMBRACES THE FOLLOWING SEVEN POINTS 1 The immediate repeal of the Reciprocal Trade Treaties with Canada and other nations. We must restore the American Market to the American Farmer. 2 The reduction of interest rates to farm borrowers. America is most secure and South Dakota most stable when our farmers own their farm homes and farm their own land. Legislation should be enacted to secure the low-interest objectives of the Frazier-Lemke bill. 3 Government assistance and subsidies or bounties should be provided for farm-developing rather than farm-restricting measures. Water conservation, erosion-prevention, and tree planting should be encouraged by Government aid and such assistance should be made available to the farmer who will develop such projects on his own farm and not limited to improvements made on the public domain. 4 A practical program of Crop Insurance should be developed and he would support such a program vigorously. 5 Drouth sufferers should be aided by Seed and Feed Loans repayable in kind on a bushel for bushel basis with no stipulation for cash payments. 6 Alf Landon's plan amending the Federal Warehouse Act so that the farmer may crib up and bin in his crops in insurable places and secure a Federal Warehouse certificate on which money can be borrowed. 7 The development of a two-price system of marketing so that the products of "the family type farm" can be sold at a profit for the producer to the full extent of our national domestic consumption. In other words, "A Fair Price for a Full Crop."
