Full textMemory's a funny thing, the way an unexpected photograph can construct perception of an entire moment. Funny how we write history and paint life. Minds are molded, and time is shaped. Whole beings are scarred by inconsequential yet meaningful moments the way even a mild sunburn can leave a mark where the heat bit. Funny how as strict, as dauntingly concrete as reality is, it remains fluid and abstract. Funny how we take from time what we need, not always what we received; what we want, not always what we saw. It's what you feel, not what you ought to.
