Prather Hall
Prather Hall
TitlePrather Hall
SubjectDakota Wesleyan University (Mitchell, S.D.) -- Buildings
DescriptionConstructed in 1906 to serve as the home of the then president of DWU, Thomas Nicholson. Colloquially known as Prexy Lodge, the large building contained a reception hall, library, dining room and parlor. In 1937 the home was renamed Music Hall and housed the DWU music department which, due to its success and growth throughout the 1930s and early 1940s, was badly in need of offices and practice rooms. In 1996, the building was renamed Prather Hall after Dorothy Prather and is currently the home of the Advancement and Alumni offices.
