| Description | Merrill Memorial Hall was the first building on the DWU campus. It was constructed out of Sioux quartzite in 1884 and held the school's classrooms, dormitory and commons rooms. This artist rendering of Merrill Hall appeared on the front page of the Mitchell Daily Republican when the building burned down on March 9, 1888. |
