| Description | The graduating class of 1912 was the largest class in DWU history. To commemorate their time at the university, the twelve students hauled a rock from the banks of the James River and engraved the boulder with their names. In the background are the Observatory and Science Hall. The rock still resides on campus, north of Smith Hall. The class: Marry Morrow, Frank Beck, John Levsen, Hugh Duglay, Jennie Jones, Carl Fosse, Ellis Potter, Grace Bliss, Olin Dunn, Maynard Hardy, Clyde Hinkley, Paul Kadinger, Earnest Just, Sylvia Brady, Arthur Edwards, Lois Anderson, Charles Birdeline, Lawrence Todnem, Vernon Van Patter, Matthew Smith (namesake of Smith Hall) and Ira Jones. |
