| Description | From the back of photograph, "The recent forest fire near Dumont as Kodaked form West Side of Spearfish. The cloud formation make by the heat and the smoke seems to indicate moisture in the air and that a rain was approaching which proved to be the case. I saw this same cloud effect in the Great Rochford fire some 10 years ago and Kodaked it." Forest Service received stamp is dated Nov 3, 1947. |
