Local Students Candidates For Degrees From
South Dakota School Of Mines And Technology
The following students from Sioux Falls were candidates for degrees from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology during commencement ceremonies held May 10, 2003, in Rapid City, S.D. Approximately 290 students were candidates for degrees during South Dakota Tech’s 147th Commencement.
Matthew Kneip, bachelor's of science in Electrical Engineering
Thor Nankivel, bachelor's of science in Geology
Lance Woodsend, bachelor's of science in Mechanical Engineering
Commander John Herrington, the first Native American to fly into space, delivered the commencement address. Abran Kean of Pierre, S.D., and Matthew Goeden of Yahnkton, S.D., gave the senior class message. Tech awarded its March Medal to Dr. Larry Simonson, a professor in Tech’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
