2007 Hardrocker Hall of Fame Inductees
Football: Joe Corbett (1982) --- Joe was an outstanding linebacker on the Hardrocker football team for three years. He was an Honorable Mention NAIA All-American, All-District and All-Conference selection during some of the greatest years in SD Mines football history.
Men’s Basketball: Derek Knapp (1994) --- Derek was an All-NAIA District and All Conference performer and fourth All-time men’s scorer with 1,860 points.
All-Around Women’s: Lisa Zacher (1985) --- Lisa was the first Hardrocker women’s athlete to compete in three sports at South Dakota School of Mines (basketball, volleyball and track).
Track and Cross Country: Mark Huber (1981) ---- Mark holds the school record in the 1,500 meter, 5K and 10K run. He won two SDIC individual Conference Championships during the 1981 season in the 5k and 10k events.
Coach: Jack Hunter, II (1975-1986) --- Jack coached the track team for 11 years and helped develop several outstanding performances. He coached the Hardrockers to the 1984 SDIC Conference Track Championship.
Team: 1951 Hardrocker football team --- The last unbeaten Hardrocker football team posted an 8-0 mark in 1951 and was coached by Barney Lewellyn. The Hardrockers defeated the eventual North Dakota Conference Champions Valley City State during that season.
